30% of human made greenhouse gas emissions are caused by food production.
Soybeans are one of the most important crops in the world, doubling up as a highly nutritious protein source for both humans and for livestock feed. But our hunger for this energising bean has led to vast amounts of deforestation and habitat conversion in some of the world’s most precious places.
In fact, over 75% of all soy produced is used to feed animals that we then consume. As the global appetite for meat and animal products grows, this fuels further demand for soybeans and puts greater pressure on our forests and savannahs.

Examples addressing this challenge could include soy or fishmeal alternatives or methane-reducing additives.
Do you have a product, service or business model which could reduce the use of soy or reduce emissions through animal feed? Have you completed a proof of concept or prototype phase and are now ready for test deployment with real customers on real farms? Working together, Tesco and WWF are offering the opportunity to apply for funding to test your innovation with key Tesco suppliers.
